The rock failure induced by point/local fatigue loads with 5 kHz frequency was analyzed in this study. It shows that the fatigue life of granite is much shorter than that in the traditional full-section fatigue tests, which increases with the increase in σ2 and decreases as the upper level of the fatigue stress or predefined stress of σ1 increase. From the acoustic emission properties, the failure of rocks under biaxial confinements induced by point/local static or fatigue loads are mainly because of tensile cracks. Meanwhile, the application of a disturbance bar with a smaller cross-sectional area induces rock broken more quickly. It seems that the following measures can be used to improve rock breakage efficiency: increasing the predefined stress in the breaking direction, reducing the lateral confinement, using the breaking bar with a small cross-sectional area, and changing the static loading into the dynamic loading of the breaking force.]]> Mon 22 Jan 2024 16:48:53 AEDT ]]> One-dimensional test problems for dynamic consolidation https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:25694 Mon 17 Jun 2019 13:05:45 AEST ]]> A new dynamic interaction factor for the analysis of pile groups subjected to vertical dynamic loads https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38181 Mon 09 Aug 2021 14:41:46 AEST ]]> Interpretation of grouting characteristics in unsaturated sand from the perspective of water–air interface https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45800 Mon 07 Nov 2022 09:51:11 AEDT ]]> Experimental study of the improvement of surrounding soils due to the grouting with a geotextile https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:53542 Mon 04 Dec 2023 15:52:07 AEDT ]]> Suction effects during uplift of steel pipes buried in compacted soil https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50564 Fri 28 Jul 2023 11:20:31 AEST ]]> Particle breakage of uniformly graded carbonate sands in dry/wet condition subjected to compression/shear tests https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:43560 Fri 23 Sep 2022 11:29:22 AEST ]]> Use of photo-based 3D photogrammetry in analysing the results of laboratory pressure grouting tests https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42222 Fri 19 Aug 2022 11:28:23 AEST ]]> Shakedown analysis of ballasted track structure using three-dimensional finite element techniques https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40574 Fri 15 Jul 2022 10:11:18 AEST ]]> From saturated to unsaturated conditions and vice versa https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36212 Fri 06 Mar 2020 12:36:42 AEDT ]]> Kinematic response of pipe piles subjected to vertically propagating seismic P-waves https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:41595 Fri 05 Aug 2022 14:58:25 AEST ]]>
